Kevin, the Whooping Cranes you saw, as well as all the ones in Florida, are part of an experimental breeding/range expansion program. I believe they are not countable yet. Regardless, I still considered it a life bird when I saw one in that same location not too long ago. It is an awe-inspiring bird and Lord knows when I'll be able to see Whoopers in Texas, for example. Maybe someone else can share more information on this subject...Mr. Pranty???
