I joined Audubon of The Everglades for a tour of STA-1E in the hope of finding the Cinnamon Teal seen on the last tour (a joint trip with TAS), which would be a state bird. Alas, it was not seen. Still, it was a fun morning--I cannot believe how many ducks are there, when it's such work to find them here! Scores of Wigeon and Ring-necks, plus quite a few Gadwall, Pintail and Shoveler, and tons of shorebirds. Highlight was probably a Snail Kite which sat on a structure not 20' away from us as we drove by.

Thanks AofE for the great morning!
