At the entrance to the C-357 Sparrow Fields this morning, I had a Tropical/Couch's Kingbird along the barbwire fence. There were many sparrows (Savannah, Grasshopper, and Swamp), a pair of White-tailed Kites, and a late Barn Swallow.

The south end of Chekika Unit of Everglades National Park was seething waders (Glossy and White Ibis, Roseate Spoonbill, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Little Blue, Tricolored, Green, and Great Blue Herons, Great and Snowy Egrets). There were a little over a dozen American White Pelicans, a Bald Eagle, and a pair of Snail Kites in the same area. Sora and King Rail were commonly heard even though it was already the middle of the day.

The hammock itself is still closed until December 1st.

Carlos
