Ft. Lauderdale Anis

I just received a phone call from the birders I hosted for a tour around Miami yesterday. They spent their afternoon at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport as I type this, and they found three possible five anis! They were watching two Smooth-billed Anis on the fence when a third popped up 50 meters away, Jim said. These were about 300 yards east from the parkinglot. Then as they were leaving, there were two more Smooth-billed Anis near the southwest entrance. So, there are at least three Smooth-billed Anis at Greenbelt Park on Griffen Road. I am willing to bet that the dead ani Toe's friend had was the Groove-billed. The group also had over a hundred warblers at Greenbelt Park today, mostly Blackpolls.

Now for some bad news: Apparantly, Ft. Lauderdale Airport wants to expand it's runways south, and would demolish the park where the anis are. Would it be possible for Fish and Wildlife to catch these birds and release these birds somewhere else? If so, I can get in contact, unless someone else has experience doing this type of stuff.
