Decided to hit the coast this morning so I went down to Black Point to try for some pelandic birds, and in my hour or so there did get lucky with a single Pomarine Jaeger. Other migrants seen going by the point included Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Cliff Swallow, numerous Barn Swallows, and a group of 4 American Avocets heading south. No sea ducks, but there were 2 flyby Blue-winged Teal and 2 Pied-billed Grebes on the water. I also had 6 warblers on the walk to the point: Ovenbird, Prairie, Palm, Northern Parula, Common Yellowthroat, and Northern Waterthrush.
Dump Marsh was quiet, I did get one sparrow sp. which jumped out of the grass and took off with a tailwind.
Quarry Lake had Caspian Tern, and a large number of waders on the near shore, including 15(!) Roseate Spoonbills.
Cutler Wetlands had the 4 American Avocets that have been there all week, plus the usual shorebirds. I did not see the Gadwall.
There were a lot of hawks around; the day's motto had to be "Bad Day to be a small prey animal". In addition to all 3 falcons, I counted at least 4 Cooper's Hawks, 4 Red-shouldered Hawks, 3 Short-tailed Hawks, a Broad-winged Hawk, 2 Harriers, and 3 Ospreys.
