The radar view this morning (if you are up early to see it) shows an "outer band" of Sandy stretching from Kitty Hawk all the way to West Palm Beach. In some respects this wind direction and velocity is helpful to migration. In other respects it could spell doom and gloom for sea birds. Right now the temperature is down to 68 and falling here in Coral Springs as the cold air from Georgia is drawn our way. Many warblers yesterday mainly parulas, yellow rumped. Quite a few vultures too and were they ever trucking. One wheeled into the wind and just drifted backwards until it was tumbled by the force of the winds at its elevation.
