Carl Goodrich a winter resident in Key West called to report a Red-legged Honeycreeper at Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park. I don t know if it was a male or female and did not talk to Carl directly, I only got his phone message. He said that he saw it at 8:30 this morning near the office and maintenance building on the left side after going into the park. He saw it here and then watched it fly over the fence into the military base.

If I were going to look for this bird I would find any flowering tree to look for the bird, they love nectar.

P.S. Who knows what the origin of this bird is, this is the sixth sighting in the last two years!
