Today on Pigeon Key we found about 200 each of Prairie, Palm and Blackpole Warblers. They were all over the lawn and in the trees. Also found 2 or more Cape May's, two Bobolinks, a Gray Kingbird, Spotted Sandpiper, a Blackthroated Blue Warbler, a dozen or more Redstarts, 3 or 4 Common Yellowthroats, and one Yellow-rump Warbler. Also helped save a disabled immature Brown Pelican - it was on the ground and not moving much. He went off to the rehab center at Marathon.

Monday we took an airboat ride at Sunset Isle Airboats (about 14 miles west of Krone on US 41) with Dave (he knows his birds) and saw among other things a nest of Anhinga young trying to learn to fly and 3 Snail Kites, one flying with a snail, and one an immature. There were alligators below the young Anhingas waiting for a failure.

Late today at Sombrero Beach on Marathon we found one American Golden Plover. Next was one nighthawk (species unknown) at Marathon Airport west end.
