Birded Barnes this afternoon between 4:30 and 7:00 PM. I saw neither the La Sagra's nor the Acadian Flycatchers. I did see a few good birds, including 9 species of warblers:
Cooper's Hawk
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Brown Thrasher (singing)
Hill Myna
Yellow-chevroned Parakeet
Northern Parula
Prairie Warbler
Blackpoll Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Worm-eating Warbler
Ovenbird
Northern Waterthrush
Common Yellowthroat
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue Grosbeak (FOY)Male & Female by railroad tracks bridge across canal on north end of park
Life is good.................thanks to a female Virgina birder, who tipped me off about the Grosbeaks.
