We spent three hours at Wakodahatchee this AM and saw several very close and very active Sora, several mated pairs of Blue-winged Teal, and several single BWT. Green-backs are in great abundance and the nesting one is doing quite well. The fledgling GBH are very active, one more so then the other. Annihingas one floor belowe probably regret where they built the nest as the whole area is becoming white washed. No sight of the Virginia Rails that John speaks of but heard the limpkin three times...a wierd call. Probably more so at night. The photo album is filling up fast with all the great photo-ops. I am anxious to see if the BWTeal produce babies as many "experts" say they don't nest in South Florida. "Don't" is a dangerous word in science. (I don't even talk about the scores of coots, morehens, gallinules, blackbirds, black-necked stilts, etc., that are there.) All in all, still a very active, productive, and worthwhile place to visit....even if the virginai Rail stays hidden or a fiction of John's imagination. :)
