Yesterday was a beautiful day on the beach here at Crandon Park. 16 birders came out to join me on the walk. Things seemed as if they were going to be good when we started with a Merlin heading south over the North Beach parking lot and a Great Crested Flycatcher near the Crandon Park Visitor and Biscayne Nature Center. Unfortunately the weather may have been TOO good. Most of the neo-tropical migrants seen while scouting on Saturday were no where to be found and we only finished with 3 warbler species.

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

After work I was considering going to Big Pine Key but got out a little late so instead went after the Red-headed Woodpecker. The bird was seen between 4pm and 5pm working the Oak grove described by Dan. To celebrate I went over to the Doc Thomas House for a Crazydilla and Franziskaner Hefe-Weiss Hell. All in all a good way to end the day!
