Painted Buntings (male) now number 2 and one catbird resident-visitors at homesite North Broward; also black and white warblers present. Palm warbler numbers are increasing. Fish Crows are about by the score and osprey has returned to Hoechoka Hammock together with 10 cormorants. An interesting note, blue jay numbers are far below what they were last year. Kestrels moved overhead heading south Sunday noon. Two rehabilitated barn owls released at Hoechoka Hammock on last Sunday. Any reports of sighting in the Parkland-Coral Springs area would be appreciated.

Today (Sunday) the cardinal, catbird and buntings were all in the bird bath at the same time. An interesting note, they all faced each other. Last year when the buntings were here in numbers they bathed every which way some side by side. Do you think that maybe the buntings/catbirds/cardinals haven't signed their non-aggression pact this fall?
