Got to see my 300th Miami-Dade county bird with Toe and Dan Smyth this morning. The Red-headed Woodpecker was absolutely stunning.
Before heading over to the dog park, I birded the picnic area early in the morning and had a Blue-winged Warbler associating with a female Black-throated Blue Warbler in the short, scrubby brush and tree islands just south of the stone building. Toe and Dan were not able to relocate it afterwards, but it may still be in the area if anyone wants to put in the effort.
