I birded from 8:30-12:30 this morning in hopes of relocating the Bay-breasted and Nashville Warblers reported recently. Birders present before I arrived said that numbers had really decreased compared to 10/17. Around 8:45, however, a rain shower approached from the south, showering the park for only ten minutes. Bird numbers increased markedly after that. Rock Jetty and I birded together until he left after 10:00. I picked up only a few new birds after his departure. Of the fifteen warbler species seen, three Magnolias were as close to "marquis" as I could get.
