The five ducks were Ringed Teal, a forest duck native to South America. Wikipedia adds: "The Ringed Teal breeds in north-west Argentina and Paraguay, also occurring in Bolivia, Brazil and Uruguay. Their habitats include tropical, swampy forests and marshy clearings in well-wooded lowlands, as well as secluded pools and small streams." It seemed to me that all 5 were female.
Ringed Teal are short-distance migrants and don't seem to stray far. They are also reasonably common in private collections, so these birds are assumed to be escapees. No one is really sure how they got to Cutler Wetlands or how long they might stay. I hope that helps.
