No matter their origin, I was glad to learn about the Ringed Teal today. I dropped by Cutler Wetlands after work and found that all 5 were still there. They were hanging out together...slowly swimming through the Mottled Ducks, Northern Shoveler, and Blue-winged Teal. At one point they took flight for 50-60 feet and then landed together. A big white patch was visible on their wings in flight and a green patch was prominent on the wings while they were swimming. I did not know there was anything out of the ordinary at Cutler Wetlands this weekend or I would have captured some photos. I'll try to bring my camera back later this week. Thanks again for sharing this sighting.
