TAS South Dade walk 10/13 (late post) - 80 species, including 5 South American Ringed Teal at Cutler Wetlands!

Boy did we have to work for those birds! Nonetheless we all had fun doing it. Highlights were: Vermilion Flycatcher (back in its usual spot at the C-111), White-tailed Kite and Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (only seen by Judd Patterson around the Lucky Hammock area). Our final stop at Cutler Wetlands produced 5 RINGED TEALS foraging among Blue-winged Teals and Northern Shovelers.
Ringed Teal is a South American duck and although these five are of unknown origin, odds are they are escapees from a private collection (not able to see any leg bands but there should be several photos available). I'll be returning to Cutler Wetlands later to try and get some photos; funny how no one else has posted any.
