Visited 3 spots yesterday - starting off with Wellington Wetlands up on Flying Cow Road, where I haven't stopped by in a while. Loggerhead shrikes are abundant out there - I spotted a dozen of them. Spotted two snail kites, several belted kingfishers, and several kestrels. There were warblers present, but they hid well - I could just head them calling out...so I can't firmly ID any. Lots of limpkins out there - surprising numbers - my count was in the 20s.

Went to Green Cay next, and the painted buntings are back in force. Spotted at least 6 of them, at two different locations. One was at the feeder at the entrance on the north side where they are frequently...and the other was at the feeder in the palm woods at the east end of the park where the pond trail and outer ring trail come together. Least bitterns continue there, and roseated spoonbills were in abundance - at least a dozen. Several sora were spotted, and a large northern harrier was on the hunt. Lots of black bellied whistling ducks continue, and blue-winged teals are back in larger numbers. Several variety of warblers are present in the cypress canopy area still - palm, prairie, black and white for sure, maybe some others that I couldn't get a good ID on.

Wrapped up at Wakodahatchee Wetlands - several belted kingfishers are still resident, red-shoulder hawks flying over, great blue herons appear to be readying nests and are appearing in much larger numbers now than the past month or two, wood storks sticking around, blue-winged teals there too, a surprising number of black-crowned night herons - at least 8. Spotted one sora there as well, and two roseated spoonbills were hanging out there, sleeping right next to the boardwalk.
