This morning I had 3-Rufous Hummingbirds at Castellow Hammock County Park near Homestead. Two birds are immature males and one is a female. Two were seen by the mound near the entrance with several Firebush trees. The third one was at the beginning of the cement walkway going to the Nature Center building. Along with the Rufous Hummingbirds, I counted at least half a dozen Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. I don't remember any reports with that many Rufous Hummingbirds in one place here in south Florida. I can't remember that many reported in one place in north Florida either. It seems to be a really good year for Rufous Hummingbird here in Florida, as there are quite a few reported. I had one in my yard and perhaps still do, I have seen it on and off.
