: My first Dry Tortugas Tour April 4-7 was fairly slow but still had some good birds.

: We scored BIG on my April 7-10 Dry Tortugas Tour. While at the dock on Stock Island we watched a really good lighting storm approach from far off in the distance. I got tired of watching it and went to sleep; finally the rains came with more lighting and thunder that lasted for quite some time. I knew then that the Dry Tortugas were going to be loaded with birds!! We traveled through some rough seas the next morning traveling out to deep water for pelagic birds. We saw many good species and good numbers of them. Once we arrived at Fort Jefferson we were treated to large numbers of migrants. Here is a list of some of the less common ones:
