I have a single pole with baffle fixed as you have described. It is the only feeder squirrel free. The problem is my yard is small/dense with trees and shrubbery, so I have very limited space for this kind of set up. I probably will set up one more pole feeder. The baffles work with the pole, but not above a feeder hanging from a tree.
