This weekend a storm front was coming through from the north, and I ended up with a 'mini-fallout' in my yard - nothing stupendous - I use the term facetiously as it wasn't a legit fallout, but some of these birds I have never seen in my yard before in almost 20 years - quite a few prairie warblers, american redstarts, palm warblers, blue-grey gnatcatchers, and an unidentified black and grey bird which had a black eye-stripe pattern similar to a loggerhead shrike but the wrong body color/pattern for one. None of those are typically in my yard. They joined the myriad cardinals, blue jays, grackles, brown thrashers, white-winged, collared, and mourning doves, downy & red bellied woodpeckers. Must have been 200+ birds in my back yard for about 2 hours.
