Mississippi Kites are still on the move. This is a species that is often overlooked in our region, but be on the lookout along coastal sites.
Yesterday at the Florida Keys Hawkwatch, we surpassed the site's single day count for the species with 28 MIKIs giving us great looks. This took us to 74 for the season, establishing our new all season high. We already tallied two over the site this morning. It is nice to read reports of MIKIs over Matheson and Cape Florida. Brian Booth also saw a pair today over Coconut Grove. They have also been seen over Midtown this week.
Please click on the FKH logo to the right to connect to the hawkwatch site to read full reports.
We are now over 700 Peregrines for the season, with 3 triple-digit days in a row including yesterday. Don't miss out - stop by the hawkwatch this season!!!
