You will not be able to see the bird from the Snake Bight Trail boardwalk. You may be able to see it from the end of Christian Point Trail. Christian Point Trail is a long trail that can be flooded in areas. Like Snake Bight Trail, it is loaded with mosquitoes. Once you walk to the end of Christian Point Trail, you will have to walk out onto the soft mud to try and view the bird. You will need boots or be prepared to throw your shoes away after you are done. The trail is about 2-miles long each way. A scope is very helpful here, I would not do the trail without it. If you make it to the end of Christian Point Trail, you will have to walk out past the mangrove trees onto the mud. You will have to look all of the way to the left in order to try and see the bird. This is where the scope will be useful.

Your other option is to rent a canoe or kayak in Flamingo. You will have to pay close attention to the tides if you do this. You can easily get stuck if the tide goes too low. I would plan it on an incoming tide and leave as the tide starts falling.

You may be able to charter a fishing boat into that area as well. There may be information if you call the Flamingo Visitor center to see what if any fishing boats are available for charter.
