: Four Sacred Ibis (origin unknown) were seen on Saturday at Dump Marsh by birders on Tropical Audubon's South Dade birding trip. Several ducks were still present: Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal, Mottled Duck, American Wigeon (one seen), Northern Shoveler (one seen), and Northern Pintail (one barely seen). A few American White Pelicans are also still present; a Spotted Sandpiper and a few Greater Yellowlegs were also seen.

: Dump Marsh is on SW 248 Street in South Miami-Dade County, across from the landfill.

I am sure that the origin of the Scared Ibis are from Metro Zoo. I was at the Zoo about a month ago at closing time and saw about six Sacred Ibis fly in. These birds roosted somewhere near the Flamingos. Now we know where they come from. My guess is that the Zoo is their home but they feed out in some of the wild areas.
