Carlos Sanchez and I birded A.D. Barnes park this morning, and found a somewhat diverse assortment of resident and migrant birds.
Much of the activity was around the boardwalk and the recently implemented "outdoor exercise area" just northwest of Homeless Hammock.
Solitary Sandpiper- heard; flyover
Cooper's Hawk- 2
White-winged Dove- 2
Red-masked Parakeet- 2
Yellow-chevroned Parakeet- 6
Amazon species- heard
Eastern Wood-Pewee- 2
Gray Kingbird- 1
Yellow-throated Vireo- 2
Black-whiskered Vireo- 1; Boardwalk area
Red-eyed Vireo- 10+
Barn Swallow- several dozen
Bank Swallow- 1
Purple Martin- 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher- 25
Hill Myna- 5
Ovenbird- 6
Worm-eating Warbler- 1
Black-and-white Warbler- 1
American Redstart- 2
Cape May Warbler- 1
Northern Parula- 12
Blackburnian Warbler- 1; first year; fruiting figs near outdoor exercise area
Yellow-throated Warbler- 2
Prairie Warbler- 15
Summer Tanager- 1
Indigo Bunting- 1; heard overheard
Bobolink- 7+ flocks moving south throughout the morning. One flock contained over 40 individuals
Spot-breasted Oriole- heard only
White-winged Parakeets were heard flying east over my home as I left for Barnes this morning.
