I saw two Rufous Hummingbirds at Castellow Hammock this morning. One was an adult female and the other may have been an immature male? The adult female chased it away before I could get a better look at it. The adult female is most likely the same bird as the last few years. The birds were feeding in the Firebush mound not to far from the entrance. They were also hawking insects in the small Live Oak on the south side of the driveway south of the picnic shelter. There is also another smaller tree (next to the live oak) with some dead sticks near the top, it liked perching here.
