Chuck-will's Widows

I am again on the west coast visiting my dad, and tonight the lanai was surrounded by the sound of Chuck-will's Widows from throughout the neighborhood. There were at least three, possibly more, calling almost continuously for hours. It was quite a treat; since I come from north of their breeding range, this was the first time I've ever heard one.
