I had the anis this past Tuesday, but from a slightly different perspective. I was flying out of Ft. Lauderdale International. The main parking garage was full, forcing me to park at a remote parking lot. The one across from Greenbelt Park. As I got out of my car, there on the fence directly in front of my car were two of the anis, one Smooth-billed, the other Groove-billed. Since a relatively high berm separates the fence from the parking area, I was able to walk to within a few feet of them without flushing them.
As I was pulling out of the parking lot in the shuttle bus, the second Smooth-billed Ani joined them on the fence.
By the way, parking at the remote lot is only $6.00 per day, compared to $12.00 per day at the main parking garage.
