Went down to Long Key SP this morning with my brother and Ezequiel Bugallo. We arrived at 7:45am and already noticed birds fluttering around and chipping as we waited for the gate to open. We birded til noon and hiked the whole park. We finished with 51 species (840 individual birds - 300 were Barn Swallows). Highlights include White-crown Pigeon, Black-whiskered Vireo and a kettle of 50+ Swallow-tailed Kites! I have never seen anywhere near as many together as I did today. They were all the same species... not a single other raptor in the kettle.
