The bird appeared considerably larger than other peeps yet smaller than Pectorals. Its tapered form, long wings, and broad body were readily evident, as were its scaled upper pattern and buff tinged breast.
Waves of tropical storm Isaac brought powerful wind and rain intermittently. I was able to keep up with the bird for a while during drier periods, until I was forced to run back into the car.
