After setting up storm stakes for turtle nests on the beach I stuck around and did some seawatching. From life guard tower 10 (Crandon Park South Beach) I spotted several tern species as the winds were coming in at a sustained 40-50 mph with 65 mph gusts.
Common Tern - 6 landed on the beach
Sooty Tern - 3 flew right by
Caspian Tern - 1 was on beach when I arrived
Royal Tern - 60 on beach
Sandwich Tern - 9 on beach
Least Tern - 35 on beach
