This morning as I headed out to work walking out into the garage to get into my car, I saw some movement up in the rafters. To my surprise there was a Hooded Warbler flying to and fro (I had opened the garage door just moments before). Now I had the dilemma of trying to get this guy out where he belonged or get to work on time. I spent the next 30 minutes trying to herd him out of the garage corners and coaxing him with Hooded Warbler calls from my Sibley ap, and running around the garage from one corner to the next working up quite a sweat but I still could not get him to fly down and out through the open garage doorway! I finally had to leave but Helen called our friend Geer to the rescue who had to open up the screen from the soffit for the warbler to drop through since he just would not fly down through the WIDE-OPEN garage doorway!
This must be a sign of migration gearing up. Toe, you get Hooded Warblers in your garage, right?
