I'm wondering what bird I photographed at a tidal creek during low tide around 6" in depth surrounded by mangroves, little fish in the shallows, creek banks filled with little crabs running out of their holes and occasional dragonflies darting in and out of the mangroves. The bird feathers look like the limpkin in my bird books, but the beak is shorter and black and the first thing that caught my eye was it s orange eye. The bird was cautiously curious about me just as I was about it. And was able to photograph it several times and moving slowly. After each shutter noise it would slightly flinch. Eventually it disappeared into the safety of the thick mangroves. Pic URL to follow. Thank you! Zara
