My daughter didn't have school today so I took her to Bill Sadowski park to play while I got my year Indigo Bunting. The buntings cooperated very well, with as many as 3 males and a couple of females at the feeder/bath at once. There was quite a lot of activity in the hammock, and among other things I saw my FOS Blackpoll Warbler. I may have seen a female as well in the litte hammock to the left of the entrance. The male was located just indide the trail to the main hammock past the first set of benches. Birds seen in a little more than an hour included:

Yellow-throated Vireo
Blue-headed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo (FOS)
Blackpoll Warbler (FOS!)
Cape May Warbler
Worm-eating Warbler
N. Parula
Black-and-white Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Indigo Bunting (males and females)
Painted Bunting (female)
Carolina Wren
House Wren
Red-shouldered Hawk
Broad-winged Hawk

Best of all, my daughter had a great time riding her bike, playing with other kids, and taking a tour of the hammock in which she was very inquisitive and made me read every sign on the trail. She doesn't know all her birds yet, but she is really good at identifying grackles and blue jays, and loves hawks. As Paul would say, life is good when you're playing with your daughter and getting beer-birds. I mean year-birds!
