I was curious about this, so I googled it and saw reference in a blog that they got rid of the cats through an adoption program. Supposedly, someone threatened to sue the city over the issue and that was what triggered the removal.
Thank god, now if they can only get rid of the car thiefs and the chicken sacrifices; though the resident fox probably appreciates the free meal.
