The University of Miami (main campus) was not as birdy as a few weeks ago, with many of the introduced exotics moving on elsewhere for better feeding opportunities. However, the resident pair of Spot-breasted Orioles continue in the area around the swimming pool. A Scaly-headed Parrot was perched at the top of a Royal Palm in the same area. Ongoing migration was evident in the form of several Barn Swallows flying overhead and a single American Redstart in the Ficus right next to the Toppel Career Center.
A.D. Barnes was quite birdy for early August, with the most notable bird being a Hooded Warbler near the elevated boardwalk. The following migrants were seen:

Red-eyed Vireo 3
Purple Martin 2
Barn Swallow 5
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 12
Northern Parula 8
Prairie Warbler 6
Yellow-throated Warbler 2
Black-and-white Warbler 2
American Redstart 7
HOODED WARBLER
Louisiana Waterthrush
Other notable birds included FIVE Spot-breasted Orioles (three juvenile birds and two adults attending a nest with young), a pair of flyover Blue-and-yellow Macaws, and an Osprey.
