Common Loons off Key Biscayne

Today at noon I spotted 12 Common Loons off south Crandon Beach. One group had 4 birds and the others were in 2's and 3's. They were resting, preening and doing the "loon thing" of resting their legs on their backs. It was greasy calm and the birds were easy to see.
