Yesterday just before sunset we checked out the drying ponds at the water treatment center in Virginia Key and we're happy to see some shorebirds. Best bird in the bunch was a single White-rumped Sandpiper feeding alongside Semipalmated Sandpipers. Many of the shorebirds were flying around the WTC but did not land in the two visible ponds.  Get out and look for migrants, if you blink you might miss out!

Shorebirds seen:
Black-necked Stilt
Black-bellied Plover
Semipalmated Plover
Killdeer
Short-billed Dowitcher
Dunlin (1)
Least Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
White-rumped Sandpiper (1)

Nature is Awesome
