Paul and Others:

The new(ish) boardwalk at Kirby Storter is a real gem, as it winds its way into the strand. The bluebirds have been very cooperative at the entrance since about January. I and others have found some good overwintering birds at the end of the boardwalk including Hermit Thrush, Northern Waterthrush, American Redstart, Yellow-throated Warbler, Ovenbird plus the usual Tufted Titmouse, Eastern Phoebe, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Great Crested Flycatcher, Pileated Woodpecker, etc. With the new boardwalk, it will be much easier to find Prothonotary Warblers which make their home in the cypress swamp at the end of the boardwalk! Bring on spring. . . .

: This report may bring some happiness to the lovers of the bluebirds. They are alive and well....all of them...and passing through in numbers along the Tamiami, Fakahatchee, and environs.

: The thread also takes you to her tufted titmouse picture, and other "critters" along the Tamiami.
