I birded Lucky Hammock and the Annex this morning and found a nice mix of local birds and migrants.

Migrants were similar to what other have been seeing including hoards of Barn Swallows, a few Cliff Swallows, good numbers of Gnatcatchers and Prairie Warbler, 2 Louisiana Waterthrush, N. Parula, Black-and-White and a single Prothonotary.

Local birds included 2 White-tailed Kite, 2 Black-bellied Whistling Ducks, a single Towhee, 2 calling N. Bobwhite. Several other N. Bobwhite were easily seen on the side of the road leading into Long Pine Key (also a Cottonmouth for that matter).

I couldn't get to all of the surrounding ag. fields due to workers but did manage to see Black-bellied Plover, G. Yellowlegs, and Pectoral Sandpiper.
