This morning I visited Sugden Regional Park here in Naples pin search of my Bird-a-Day. I was very surprised to find a male Hairy Woodpecker actively feeding on one of the sap wells in a Live Oak. In nearly 12 years of birding this park, I have never seen a Hairy Woodpecker there. Also see was a Belted Kingfisher, not my FOTS, however. Other common resident breeding birds were also present. No migrant warblers were found.
