: : When was the last time it was seen I wonder?

: Feb. 15 was the most recent report.
I saw the spindalis in key west on friday, feb 18, and from what I heard, no one saw it on the 22'd. I have been on vacation here and have seen and heard a flock of 10 to 15 Am. goldfinch several times at Ft. Zachary T., as well as a flock of cedar waxwings off and on in Truman Annex, along Front St., towards the end. The best birds I have had were two singing Pine warblers at Ft. Zach. last week several days apart. I don,t think they are very common in Key West. There has been a dark phase short-tailed hawk soaring over the city off and on, and a pair of osprey are tending two young in their nest on the platform in the field behind the Fort. The young look like they will fly and day now. There have been several white-crowned pigeons around, but only one sighting of Sissor-tailed flycatcher ( and two grey kingbirds (Ft. Z.). There are more than a zillion cabirds !!!
