I drove out to Black Point Park around 1200 noon today. Initially, upon entering the parking lot leading to the point, I heard the Mangrove Cuckoo but did not see it. After turning around and cruising very slowly, I saw a bit of movement in a branch not more than four feet from the pavement. On closer approach I had a great view of the Cuckoo.... full frontal view. Later I continued West on SW 248th St.. At the Fl Turnpike overpass many Cave Swallows were flying. I saw six clinging to the the cement beams below which gave me the best close-up looks I have had of these Swallows. Very nice!.
