: I just received this rather "sketchy" report of a Eurasian Teal (Anas crecca) which, as most of you know, has been split from our "expected" Green-winged Teal (Anas carolinensis) for the state by the AOU. I'll try to find out more with regard to this bird and when I do, I'll post the info. I THINK (but by no means I'm sure) that the location is Ding-Darling NWR on Sanibel (Lee County).

: According to Stevenson & Anderson (_Birdlife of Florida_) there aren't any accepted records for Anas crecca in the state as of 1994. Has this changed since then I wonder?
According to Ding Darling birders this week, the Eurasian Teal was spotted by an excellent European birder at the refuge who pointed it out to Auduboners. I also understand Lillian Stokes got an good digital picture of the bird. We think this is a record bird for Ding. If we get a picture, I'll get it up here.
