What an adorable bird. She looks tiny though. I'll find out what their average size is. The bird I saw from the watchtower was a good size (bigger than a blue jay, for ex.) -- I could see him without glasses.

: You most likely saw a belted kingfisher. If it was only blue and white, it was most likely a male--females also have a rufous band. I'll try to attach a photo of the female.
