Broward to Merritt Island NWR

I am going this weekend to Merritt Island for the first time. I can't wait! Can anyone recommend the best birding spots between Broward and MNWR? I've been checking online but the info is overwhelming and I rather hear the best spots from experienced birders. I am already a regular at Wakodiahatchee. My hopeful top 5 must see's for the trip are bald eagles, sandhill cranes, florida scrub jay, male painted bunting and everything else.... lol.
