I remember seeing many thousands of Robins along Research Rd about 5 winters ago. Needless to say, they were then also feeding on the Brazilian Pepper along Research Rd, much of which has been removed as part of the restoration project.
I wondered how they would do this year with so much pepper removed.
Nancy Freedman and I also noticed that Brazilian Pepper along the turnpike that has had many Robins in the past appeared to have no fruit left last weekend.
: Everglades NP was loaded with about as many robins as I've seen anywhere on the planet in January; they were mostly feeding on the brazilian pepper fruit(great)in massive flocks near the Daniel Beard center. There easily could've been 50,000 robins down there. This week, not a one! They actually ate all that brz pep fruit. It really seems like they have dispersed around the area more in the last two weeks as I see smaller flocks of them everywhere, including my yard in south Dade.
