My non-birding daughter just called to let me know that she saw what she's calling a Flamingo just north of Lake Okeechobee. She was traveling along Rte 441 near the Taylor Creek/Nubbins Slough Conservation Area.
Normally I'd pass this off as Roseate Spoonbill, but with the weather you guys are having, I thought it might be worth a mention in case anyone happens to be in the area.
She describes a bright pink, long legged, long necked bird, but wsa not able to give a description of bill size/ shape.
