In the panhandle, there are a few differences between species that could be found. The differences are mainly along the coast, where there are many more shorebirds in the winter (such as Whimbrel, Red Knot, Marbled Godwits, Long-billed Curlew). There are also Snowy Plovers on the west coast, and there are none on the east coast. The western part of the state may also get more birds during migration, since most will fly up from the Yucaton area and stop over in areas such as Ft. DeSoto. As far as breeding birds, I can only think of Snowy Plovers being the ones that only favor one side of the state over the other. Looking at the range maps in a field guide may be the best thing to do.
